To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp having less changes on light output characteristics and electrical characteristics, despite its wide range of changes in the ambient temperature, and to provide a lighting fixture.
The electrodeless discharge lamp includes a bulb 2, having a recessed section 4 which is depressed to the inside, a tube-shaped section 5 sealed at one end and connected with a discharge space in the bulb 2 at the other end connected with a bottom of the recessed section 4, a metal container 7 for storing amalgam (not illustrated) arranged inside the tube-shaped section 5, an induction coil 14, wound around the periphery of the tube-shaped section 5, and a cylindrical heat-radiating body 12 arranged between the induction coil 14 and an outer peripheral surface of the tube-shaped section 5 and exposing a part of the cylindrical heat-radiating body to the outsidde of the recessed section 4. Then, a sealing section 10 for sealing a material causing phase changes between a liquid phase and a gaseous phase is arranged inside the heat-radiating body 12.
