Title:
ELECTRODELESS DISCHARGE LAMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3022172
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp high in reliability and low in impure gas.
CONSTITUTION: In an electrodeless discharge lamp, a high frequency current is carried from a high frequency power supply in an induction coil 12, arranged outside a bulb 11 sealed with discharge gas to consist of permeable material, to apply a high frequency electromagnetic field to act in the discharged gas sealed in the bulb 11, so as to generate excitation emission of the discharge gas. In this structure, having a getter member 13 adsorbing impure gas, this getter member 13 is held in a shape surrounded by a glass member 14 having an opening part 14a. Accordingly, the getter member is held in a shape surrounded by the glass member, to eliminate apprehension of glass damage in a temperature cycle in a bulb manufacturing process and during lamp operation.
