Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte for aluminum electrolytic capacitors which is superior in the effect of increasing a withstand voltage to a conventional electrolyte in which polyvinyl alcohol is used as a withstand voltage-increasing agent, and enables the suppression of the increase in viscosity of an electrolyte.SOLUTION: An electrolyte for aluminum electrolytic capacitors comprises: polyglycerin or a polyglycerin derivative; and polyvinyl alcohol. The polyglycerin has an average degree of polymerization of 2 to 20 calculated from a hydroxyl value. The polyglycerin derivative is polyoxyethylene polyglyceryl ether produced by adding 1-100 mol of ethylene oxide to the polyglycerin having an average degree of polymerization of 2 to 20 calculated from a hydroxyl value, or polyglyceryl fatty acid ester which includes the polyglycerin having an average degree of polymerization of 2 to 20 calculated from the hydroxyl value, and a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid.
