Title:
ELECTROLYTE MEMBRANE FOR SOLID HIGH POLYMER FUEL CELL AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3922954
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte membrane for a solid high polymer fuel cell with superior mechanical strength and power generating characteristic, and its manufacturing method.
SOLUTION: The electrolyte membrane for the solid high polymer fuel cell is reinforced by a fluorine fiber sheet formed by coupling pieces of fluorine fiber, and it is a cation exchange membrane with a thickness of 5-95 μm comprising perfluorocarbon-based ion exchange resin having a sulfonic acid group. The manufacturing method of the electrolyte membrane for the solid high polymer fuel cell has a papermaking process of obtaining a fluorine fiber paper sheet by subjecting the fluorine fiber to wet type papermaking, a heating process of obtaining a fluorine fiber sheet by heating the fluorine fiber paper sheet and thermally fusing the pieces of fiber, and an integrating process of integrating the perfluorocarbon-based ion exchange resin having the sulfonic acid group with the fluorine fiber sheet.
