PURPOSE: To extend substantially the service life of un-woven cloth for the electrolytic grinding of a material and ensure efficient grinding by making the cloth of a nylon sheet impregnated with Al2O3 abrasive grins exceeding 50% percentage weight.
CONSTITUTION: Un-woven cloth impregnated with abrasive grains is pressed to a material to be ground and made from zirconium and the alloy thereof, and the material is subjected to an electrolytic grinding process, while being given relative speed. In this process, the fabrics 1 of a nylon sheet is impregnated with abrasive grains such as Al2O3 and SiC. And when the material 3 to be ground has been exposed to an electrolytic grinding process, fine roughness appears on the surface of the material 3 due to the grains 2 and a projected portion 4 is solved into an electrolyte 5 due to electrolysis, thereby ensuring very efficient grinding. In this case, the impregnated amount of Al2O3 abrasive grains above 50% by a weight ratio ensures a large amount of grinding and substantially improves the durability of the un-woven cloth. In this way, the grinding surface of high quality can be continuously maintained.
