Abstract:
To provide an electrolyzing electrode capable of generating ozone with high efficiency by electrolysis of water at the low current density.
The electrolyzing electrode 1 includes a base body 2 and a surface layer 4 formed on the base body 2. The surface layer 4 of the electrolyzing electrode 1 is formed of an amorphous dielectric substance, such as niobium oxide. By setting the amount of supported niobium to be ≥2 μmol/cm2 and ≤16 μmol/cm2, ozone is efficiently generated by the electrolysis of electrolyte solution with the low current density with the electrode being used for an anode.
