Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an electromagnet having the strong static magnetic field in continuous casting mold.
CONSTITUTION: The iron cores 2, 3, 8, which are to form the magnetic field for magnetic flux circulating by facing the electromagnet having the same width as the mold width at the long side of rectangular section of continuous casting mold, are arranged around the mold 1. The iron cores 2, 3, 8 are devided to the long and short sides of the mold 1, the iron cores 2, 3 at the long side are abutted free to slide on the side face of the iron core 8 at the short side. Thus, the attraction force between magnetic cores due to magnetic force is not applied directly on the mold constituting members (mold short side copper plate) to extend the mold life.
