Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic brake capable of dealing with a high-speed rotary motor of tens of thousands rpm or more, for example.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic brake comprises: a cylindrical rotation body 3 consisting of a magnetic body fixed to a rotation shaft 1; and an electromagnet by which magnetic poles 10 and 12 of reverse polarities appear alternately in a circumferential direction of the rotation body 3, at an outer peripheral side of the rotation body 3. The electromagnetic brake applies a brake force to the rotation of the rotation body 3 by an electromagnetic force of the electromagnet. A plurality of electromagnets A, B, C, and D are provided in an axial direction of the rotation shaft of the rotation body 3. The magnetic poles 10 and 12 of these electromagnets are opposed to a lateral face of the rotation body 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
