Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide an increase of braking torque, by providing a ringshape brake band, with brake shoe installed to the air gap between rotary tube inner circumferential face and tubular shape electromagnet, and by securing one end of said band to the circumference of the electromagnet. CONSTITUTION:In the interior of a coupling cylinder 11 coupled to a shaft 10, is concentrically proveded a cylindrical electromagnet with a coil 13 housed in a reel- shape yoke 12 through an air gap 17. For a movable magnetic plate of this electromagnet, is housed a brake band 14 in the air gap 17 with a brake shoe 15 installed to the outside face of a ring-shape magnetic spring board, and one end of said band is fixed to a support part 16 on the yoke 12 circumference. In this way, for the electromagnet when not energized, a brake operation is performed by a bitting action, and for the electromagnet when energized,the band 14 is adsorbed by the yoke 12, with the contact released between the shoe 15 and the cylinder,11. In such way, with a control opration point widely applicable throughout a full circumferential face, a large braking torque can be provided.
