Abstract:
PURPOSE: To form the contact piece and the electromagnet of a electromagnetic contactor through pressing and sintering powder-like metal by specifying material, shapes, and a forming method, and controlling abutting velocity by a microprocessor. CONSTITUTION: Preferably, phosphorus of 0.8 percentage by weight is added to powder-like metal which is selected from a group made of iron, cobalt, nickel and their mixture, the same is pressed into predetermined shapes such as C, I, E-shaped, and sintered so as to form at least one of a magnetic flux conducting contact piece 40 and slug 36. Press is isostatic press, is conducted in temperatures from 1050 to 1310 deg.C at pressures from 20 to 60tsi, and green density is from 6 to 7.5g/cm<3> . The abutting velocity of the contact piece 40 and the slug 36 is controlled so as not to exceed 76.2cm/second by a microprocessor so that the same can be protected not to be crushed at a shock time.
