Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a large impact force by increasing the thrust of a piston under the application of a simple mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: Regarding the percussion device equipped with a linear motor stator on a cylinder 2 and a reciprocating percussion mechanism using a piston 3 as a movable element, a linear motor stator has a divisional member 6 of ferromagnetic material for dividing a coil 5. As a result, a line of a magnetic force runs through the member 6 in a concentrated form and concentrates in a gap between the piston 3 and the member 6, thereby increasing magnetic flux density. Also, magnetic energy is accumulated at a position where magnetic permeability is low and magnetic flux density is high. Furthermore, the piston 3 and member 6 made of ferromagnetic material have very high permeability, compared with permeability in the air. Thus, most of the magnetic energy is accumulated in a gap between the piston 3 and the coil 5. In this case, the magnetic energy is extremely high, compared with the case where the member 6 is not fitted and, therefore, the thrust of the piston 4 increases.
