Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve reproductivity of transfer torque, by a method wherein a magnetic flux generating means, which generates magnetic flux only in the central part of a motion gap and in a position in the vicinity thereof, is located independently from an electromagnet. CONSTITUTION:Electricity is charged through slip rings 21a and 21b from a brush 22 to an exciting coil 3, which causes a motion gap 37 to emanate magnetic flux. The flow of a current through the coil 3 results in formation of a magnetic circuit passing through yokes 1a and 1b, the motion gap 37, and a rotor 10 to generate magnetic flux. Thus, the presence of an exciting current to the coil 3 determines whether rotary torque may be transmitted or not. Thus, even when the charge of electricity through the coil 3 is disconnected by means of magnetic flux PHI8 of a permanent magnet 8, magnetic powder 4 is continued to be held at the central part of the motion gap 3 without scattering. This reduces movement of the magnetic powder 4 into the motion gap 37, decreases production of a change in a coupling condition of the magnetic powder during magnetization effected through the working of the coil 3, and improves reproductivity of transfer torque.
