Abstract:
PURPOSE: To protect the lead wires of the thermostat and thermocouple in a terminal box of an electromagnetic stirrer against slab heat and to assure the normal operation of the stirrer by enclosing the terminal box with a water cooling jacket having a notch for insertion.
CONSTITUTION: The terminal box 7 of the electromagnetic stirrer 5 is enclosed with the water cooling jacket 1 having the notch 4 for insertion of said box. The lead wires of the thermostat and thermocouples, etc. which are susceptive to heat exist in the box 7 but are protected against the heat of the slab S by the jacket 1, by which the normal operation is assured and the trouble is prevented.
