Thrust to be imparted to molten steel 5 is made uniform as fast as possible by stirring the molten steel 5 filled in a hollow part of a mold 2 adjusted so as to become the maximum casting width by using a magnetic field generated from a center of cores 41A, 41B being a region excluding the end parts of the cores 41A, 41B where magnetic flux density is drastically reduced by deciding the width of the cores so that the end parts in the width direction of the cores 41A, 41B are positioned to the outside from an internal wall face in the casting width direction of the hollow part of the mold 2 adjusted so as to become the maximum casting width.
