Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce an excellent suppression torque while enhancing the efficiency by a structure wherein a stator ring of an AC generator forming an induction pole surrounds a rotary armature through a gap and two rotary rings are juxtaposed axially on the outer surface of an inner sleeve. CONSTITUTION: The electromagnetic suppressor comprises a rotor 2 secured to the output shaft 1 of a gear box of a car, and a stator 3 cantilevered on the casing thereof. An electric winding coil 4 being fed with a current for energizing the suppressor and forming a ring of induction pole forms a part of the rotor 2 and an armature while a ferromagnetic annular component 5 causing a brake action and heating forms a part of the stator 3. A liquid circuit 6 is also provided for cooling. The axis of the coil 4 extends radially and a rotary generator having a rotor secured to the rotor 2 is employed. The generator comprises a three-phase rotor 13 constituting an armature and an induction stator 14 surrounding the rotor 13 and the energizing current is controlled through a regulation circuit 16.
