Abstract:
To provide an electromagnetic switch for a starter capable of preventing failure caused by the formation of a leak circuit between a battery side terminal and a grounding part even in a case where it is exposed to water.SOLUTION: In an electromagnetic switch for a starter, a partition wall 70 formed on the external surface of a switch cap 7 so as to project toward an axial center, is arranged between a battery side terminal 8, and a motor side terminal 11, a motor side terminal lead-out part 18 and an electromagnetic coil side terminal lead-out part 17; and both end parts 70a, 70b of a wall surface are extended to an edge part in a radial direction of the switch cap 7, and a creepage distance between the battery side terminal and the other terminals can be secured due to a wall surface effect of the partition wall, so that even when the exposed terminal portion of the switch cap 7 is exposed to water, it is possible to prevent the formation of a leak circuit between itself and the battery side terminal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
