Title:
ELECTROMAGNETIC TORQUE TRANSMISSION STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01190241
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To excellently transmit the torque from a first shaft to a second shaft by providing a double rotor structure having an exciting rotor mounted on the first shaft, a hollow cylindrical induction rotor mounted on the second shaft, and a stationary magnetic field exciting means. CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical exciting rotor 1 includes an inner polar member 2 and an outer polar member 3 which are concentrically mounted on one side of a pole connecting means 4, and the outer polar member 3, the inner polar member 2, and the pole connecting means 4 surround an outer surface, an inner surface, and one end of a hollow cylindrical induction rotor 10. At least one of the inner polar member 2 and the outer polar member 3 includes a magnetic field focusing member 9. A stationary magnetic field winding having related magnetic circuits is used to perform excitation of the magnetic field. A magnetic field exciting means produces the temporally and spatially changing magnetic field to induce the current to the induction rotor 10 during the operation together with the exciting rotor 1. The induced current transmits the torque between shafts through reaction with the magnetic field of the exciting rotor.
