To provide an electron emitting element having a new structure for facilitating to focus an electron beam and an electron emission display device using it.
The electron emitting element comprises a first electrode and a second electrode formed to be spaced from each other by a predetermined distance on a base, an insulating layer formed on the whole structure and having an opening portion for exposing at least a part of the first electrode out of the first electrode and the second electrode, an electron emitter exposed via the opening portion and formed on a predetermined region of the first electrode, and a third electrode formed on the insulating layer and connected to the second electrode. When electrons are emitted from the electron emitter by applying a voltage difference between the first electrode and the second electrode, the electrons are focused by the third electrode.
