To save power of an electric appliance and facilitate connection to an external appliance by solving the following problems: since power is conventionally needed to detect a signal from a remote controller when an electronic appliance is remotely controlled, standby power consumption is large and, when the electronic appliance is connected to other appliance, predetermined operation is required for respective appliances.
The electronic appliance is connected to an IC tag via an output port of a switching transistor provided in the IC tag, so that start of the electronic appliance is controlled by control of the switching transistor. Thus, the electronic appliance can be started by the external appliance, so that the convenience of the electronic appliance is improved. A remote controller using the IC tag can be provided, so that standby power consumption of an infrared remote controller can be reduced.
