To provide an electronic bulletin board system for assisting a user in retrieving a needed article by arranging articles in the order of the frequency of perusal on the assumption that an article stating an important matter is perused by many users.

When a user browses articles on a display screen 10 of an electronic bulletin board, the articles can be displayed in descending order of the frequency of article browsing by selecting the order 11 of browsing frequency. In this event, the record period of browsing frequency can be selected from among the total frequency 11a of browsing, today's browsing frequency 11b, this week's browsing frequency 11c, this month's browsing frequency 11d, and time period designation 11e. When the period designation 11e is selected, an arbitrarily designated time period can be inputted. The articles are displayed so that they are arranged in descending order of the frequency of article browsing, whereby an article having interested other bulletin board users can be quickly chased up among articles posted on the bulletin board and further important information can be prevented from being missed.
