The electronic camera comprises: an imaging device 19; a comparison means 21 for comparing an photographed image by the imaging device 19 and reference data; a determination means 21 for determining whether or not the photographed image is a specific person based on a comparison result by the comparison means 21; an allowance means 21 for allowing predetermined processing when the determination means 21 determines that the photographed image is the specific person; detection means 16, 21 for detecting object distance information; and a control means 21 for prohibiting at least one of photographing of the image used for comparison, comparing by the comparison means 21, determining by the determination means 21, and permission by the allowance means 21 when the object distance detected by the detection means 16, 21 is longer than a predetermined distance.
