To provide an electronic control device capable of using a repairing circuit such as a redundancy circuit to be used for manufacturing an IC chip for repairing the IC chip mounted on an automobile or the like.
Each IC chip constituting an electronic control device includes a TAP controller for performing the test of the IC chip, and a repairing means for repairing any defective part when the defective part of the IC chip is detected by a host device outside the electronic control device based on the result of the test. The electronic control device includes a switch which interrupts the signal line for communication between IC chips when performing the test, and also interrupts the signal line for communication of the IC chip with a device outside the electronic control device except the signal line for communication of the TAP controller with the host device, and an input/output interface which outputs the signal indicating the result of the test, and inputs the signal necessary for the operation of the repairing means and the signal for controlling the switch from the host device.
