Abstract:

PURPOSE: To contrive to reduce noise and vibration generated at the time of idling and reduce the produced amount of white smoke, by providing a temperature-detecting means in a combustion chamber of the engine.

CONSTITUTION: A main body 1 of the engine is provided with a glow plug 9 which detect the temperature in the interior of the combustion chamber, and an idle switch 11 which detects the full closed condition of a control lever 10 and is located coaxially with a rotary shaft 10a for the lever 10. A main intake passage 5a and an auxiliary intake passage 5b are formed on the upstream of an intake pipe 5, and a main intake throttle valve 12a and an auxiliary intake throttle valve 12b are provided in the passage 5a and the passage 5b, respectively. An opening signal of the switch 11 is inputted into a controlling circuit 29, the change in the temperature of the glow plug 9 is detected through the change in the resistance of a heating wire 26 and is also inputted into the circuit 29, and the circuit 29 changes the supplied electric power so as to maintain the wire 26 at a constant temperature. Accordingly, it is enabled to reduce the noise and vibration.
