To eliminate the need of input work by a user for calling a prescribed dictionary image which has been displayed when recording images when in playback mode.
The electronic device includes: a display control section 21 for displaying the image of an electronic dictionary on a display screen when receiving a first instruction in the case of recording received video data by an image recording section 22 while displaying the video data on the display screen; and a capture section 24 for, when the processing of displaying a prescribed image of the image of the electronic dictionary on at least part of the display screen is performed while recording images, capturing the image data of the displayed image and storing the captured image data in a storage section 16 in relation to the video data being recorded. When a playback section 23 receives a playback instruction for playing back the recorded video data, the display control section 21 displays the prescribed image on the display screen on the basis of the image data stored in relation to the video data.
