To provide an electronic endoscope apparatus capable of reliably obtaining a spectral image by the band limit light of a desired wavelength band.
The electronic endoscope apparatus includes: a wavelength filter unit having a pair of transmission boards where reflection films are formed on mutually opposing surfaces; and a driving means for changing the wavelength band of the light passing the pair of transmission boards by moving one transmission board so as to change an interval between the boards, and allowing white light generated by a lamp arranged inside a light source device to be made incident to at least a part of the transmission boards; and further includes: a spectrum detecting means for detecting the wavelength spectrum of the band limit light to be obtained by passing the white light through the wavelength filter unit; a spectral characteristic acquisition light guide for guiding the band limit light to the spectrum detecting means; and a controller for controlling the driving means so as to obtain the desired transmission wavelength band, based on the wavelength spectrum of the band limit light detected by the spectrum detecting means.
