Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp still picture by picking up a reflected light of the internal lighting led through a waveguide path from a light source, and detecting the reacted charge quantity from a CCD, and confirming/displaying it as freeze picture when it is made stable. CONSTITUTION:When a freeze switch requesting a still picture is depressed, a lamp power supply control section 1 starts to apply modulation lighting to an endoscope radiation light source synchronously with the operating pulse of a solid-state image pickup element (CCD). The reacted electric charge from the CCD picking up the reflected light of lighting of the inside led through the waveguide path 4 from the light source is detected and a charge quantity detection control section 7 extracts a freeze picture when the charge quantity is made stable. Thus, the sharp still picture is obtained and the light intensity increase time of the light source is minimized and the reduction in the service lift of the light source lamp is minimized.
