A reproducing means 3 reproduces the read voice data and outputs it from a loudspeaker 4. A calculating means 5 calculates an operation time of the reproducing means 3 within a fixed period. A display means 6 displays a character according to the information calculated by the calculating means 5 on a display device 7. An output means 8 outputs voice data corresponding to the character displayed on the display device 7 from a loudspeaker 9. Moreover, when an operating part 10 is not operated for a predetermined time or longer after the power supply is turned on, a detecting means 11 notifies the user of the state by operating a notifying means 12.
