PURPOSE: To avoid the recording beyond the width of the recording paper, by using the recording paper having a smaller width than the maximum width of paper of a device main body and recording the recording data in plural divisions on the recording paper.
CONSTITUTION: The numerical data supplied from a keyboard 5 is controlled by a CPU6, and the recording equivalent to the width of the recording paper is stored in a register 8. The recording equivalent to the paper width is carried out on the recording paper by a printer 9. At the same time, a counter 10 counts the frequency of key inputs of the keyboard 5, and the count contents is compared with the paper width detection signal of an encoder 12 through a comparator. If the width of the recording paper can record 6 digits, a comparator 11 transmits a coincidence signal to a CPU6 when the count contents of the counter 10 reaches 6 and stores the record data of 6 digits in the register 8 to perform the recording of 6 digits. When the recording is over, the recording paper is fed by a line. At the same time, the counter 10 is reset by the above- mentioned coincidence signal. And the next key input is counted again from the start.
