PURPOSE: To reduce the amount of processing of a muffler, which cancels noise, by employing plural noise sensors, actuators and error sensors.

CONSTITUTION: The device consists of noise sensors 1 and 2 which detect noise information of single or plural noise sources, plural adaptive type digital filters 20 to 25 which generate additive sound signals to cancel the noise information that is detected by the sensors 1 and 2, plural actuators 3 to 5 which are driven by the sounds generated from the filters 20 to 25 and generate additive sounds that cancel noise and plural error sensors 6 and 7 which detect mixed sounds of noise and additive sounds and transmit error signals to update filter coefficients of the filters 20 to 25.
