PURPOSE: To attain a high speed processing by adjusting each optical rotating, enlarging/reducing and/or moving means until an output tile picture reaches the adaptable imitation of an objective input picture, and discovering a proper IFS.
CONSTITUTION: When pictures formed by different optical branches are connected by a reflection mirror 4 and beam splitters B4 and B5, a tile picture is formed on a fourth picture plane 14. The tile picture is optically formed, so that the change of the tile picture can be observed, and also the setting of a zoom lens and the movable reflection mirror can be adjusted. The proper IFS for the prescribed object is decided by the setting bringing the optimal tile picture. That is, the IFS is decided by probability related with each optical branch, and the specific amounts of rotation, scale, and movement operated by each optical branch. Thus, the high speed processing can be attained.
