PURPOSE: To enable timing of a second hand movement for pointer indication to coincide with that of a second counting for digital indication, by a method wherein a hand is caused to stop moving by pulling a crown, and a second unit digit in a digital indication part is reset at a zero second.

CONSTITUTION: With a switch 8 closed by pulling a crown, a reset signal, having a high level, is generated to reset a dividing circuit 14 and FF25W25 and 26W28 for rightward unit digit and leftward unit digit counting respectively. This causes stopping of the movement of a hand via a pulse generator 20 for moving a hand, and decoders 17 and 18 reset the second column of the digital indication part at 00 second. Then, with the switch 8 opened by depressing the crown, the hand indication part starts to move the hand and the digital indication part, simultaneously, starts to count second, and the timing of the hand movement for hand indication coincides with that of a second counting for digital indication.
