To obtain an electrophotographic photoreceptor which can be easily produced and which suppresses changes in electrophotographic characteristics and potential characteristics caused by repetition of electrification and exposure by subjecting the photoreceptor to electrification history in a high temp. state.
This electrophotographic photoreceptor is subjected to electrification history in a high temp. state. The photoreceptor preferably contains titanyl oxyphthalocyanine as a charge producing material. The treatment in a high temp. state is carried out at ≥45°C, and especially near the glass transition temp. of the photosensitive layer. The treatment to give electrification history can be performed by direct electrification with a conductive electrifying member, electrification with a dischargeable electrifying member, or direct electrification with plural electrifying members. The treatment may be performed with exposure treatment, or AC voltage may be superimposed on the conductive electrifying member.
