Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an electrophotographic photoreceptor which has a surface layer having high hardness and has excellent wear resistance and flaw resistance and excellent durability characteristic by incorporating the reaction product of a specific compd. into the surface layer of this electrophotographic photoreceptor.
CONSTITUTION: The surface layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor having photosensitive layers on a conductive substrate contains the reaction product of the compd. having the structure expressed by formula I. In the formula I, R1 to R6 denote H or the compd. expressed by formula II. However, there are no cases where ≥2 are simultaneously H. In the formula II, R7 denotes an alkylene group, O, C=O, NH, S and a group combining these; R8 denotes H, CH3 and phenyl group. This compd. is a monomer which is polymerized by radical polymn. but has an extremely high functional group density. since its reaction rate is extremely high, polymn. reaction progresses even under mild conditions and, therefore, the photoconductive material is hardly damaged. In addition, the compd. has excellent compatibility with the photoconductive material and dispersibility. Further, the compd. has the high functional group density and, therefore, the polymer has the extremely high hardness.
