PURPOSE: To enhance sensitivity by forming a photoreceptive layer composed of a mixed material prepared by dispersing fine nonmonocrystalline silicon particles having H and/or halogen and C atoms and a valence electron controlling group into a specified polysilane compound.
CONSTITUTION: The photoreceptive layer is composed of a mixture of the nonmonocrystalline fine particles having H and/or halogen and C atoms and a valence electron controlling group and the polysilane compound having a weight average molecular weight of 6,000 - 200,000 represented by formula I in which R1 is 1 - 2 alkyl; R2 is 3 - 8 alkyl, aryl, or the like; each of R3 and R4 is 1 - 4 C alkyl; each of A and A' is 4 - 12 C alkyl, aryl, or the like; each of n and m is a molar ratio of a monomer to the total monomers and n + m = 1, 0 < n ≤ 1, and 0 ≤ m < 1, thus permitting sensitivity to be enhanced.
