To provide a high-reliability photoreceptor which aims at reducing environmental loads improving production stability in a photoreceptor manufacturing process and ensures little variation in sensitivity by environmental dependence, exhibits high responsiveness even in a low-temperature and low-humidity environment, is compact, has a high image forming speed, and provides a high-quality image even in an environment such as a low-temperature and low-humidity one, and to provide an image forming apparatus including the photoreceptor.
The electrophotographic photoreceptor includes an intermediate layer between a conductive support and a photosensitive layer. The intermediate layer is a layer formed through heat curing from a coating liquid for an intermediate layer comprising a blocked isocyanate compound, a resin having an active hydrogen-containing group for reacting with an isocyanate group in the blocked isocyanate compound, and an aqueous medium. The photosensitive layer is a single layer type photosensitive layer containing a charge generating material and a charge transport material, or a laminate type photosensitive layer formed by stacking a charge generating layer containing a charge generating material and a charge transport layer containing a charge transport material in this order or in the converse order, wherein the charge transport material is a triphenylamine-diene or triene compound into which a cyclic saturated structure has been introduced.
