To provide a cylindrical electrophotographic photoreceptor which improves vibration, warpage and edge defects of a cleaning blade when a cleaning member is set in a specific position, and which improves image defects such as image deletion and toner fusion in long-term use in a high temperature and high humidity environment, and to provide an image forming method using the photoreceptor.
A peripheral surface of the cylindrical electrophotographic photoreceptor has a plurality of dimple-shaped concavities, ten-point average roughnesses Rzjis(A) and (B) measured by sweeping in a peripheral direction and a generatrix direction of the peripheral surface of the cylindrical electrophotographic photoreceptor are 0.3-2.5 μm, average spacings RSm(C) and (D) of concavities and convexities measured by sweeping in a peripheral direction and a generatrix direction of the peripheral surface of the cylindrical electrophotographic photoreceptor are both 5-120 μm, and the ratio (D/C) of the average spacing RSm(D) of concavities and convexities to the average spacing RSm(C) of concavities and convexities is 0.5-1.5. The image forming method using the photoreceptor is also provided.
