Abstract:
To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor that is excellent in wear resistance and can prevent the occurrence of an image defect caused by light exposure and an image defect caused by contact with a member provided in an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A photosensitive layer 3 provided in an electrophotographic photoreceptor 1 contains a charge generating agent, a hole transport agent, a binder resin, and an azo compound. The binder resin contains a polyarylate resin. The polyarylate resin includes a repeating unit represented by a specific general formula and a repeating unit represented by a specific chemical formula. The ratio of the number n1 of the repeating units represented by a specific general formula to the number n2 of the repeating units represented by a specific chemical formula, n1/n2 is 1.0 or more.
