PURPOSE: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which has a photosensitive layer formed by uniformedly distributing a charge transport material and a charge generation material on its binding resin and is superior in sensitivity, by combining a specific charge generation material and a specific polyester resin.
CONSTITUTION: An organic photosensitive layer containing am least one kind of a charge generation material which is selected from a group composed of nonmetal phthalocyanine, titanyl phthalocyanine, perylenue pigment, bisazo pigment, dithioketopyroropyrrole pigment, nonmetal naphthalocyanine pigment, metal naphthalocyanine pigment, squaline pigment, trisazo pigment, indigo pigment, azulenium pigment, and cyanine pigment, and binding resin which is composed of polyester resin or substantially a linear polymer using at least one kind of dihydroxy compound expressed by formulas I, II, etc., is provided on a conductive substrate. In the formulas I, II, R1 represents an alkylene group of carbon numbers 2-4, R2-R5 represent hydrogen atoms and an alkyl group of carbon numbers 1-4, and (n) is integer more than 2.
