Abstract:
To provide a negatively charged electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of improving sensitivity while reducing ghost image and image density unevenness represented by optical memory.SOLUTION: In a negative charging electrophotographic photoreceptor having a conductive substrate, a photoconductive layer on the conductive substrate, an intermediate layer on the photoconductive layer, and a surface layer on the intermediate layer, the ratio (C / (Si + C)) of the number of atomic atoms (C) to the sum of the number of atoms (Si) and the number of atoms (C) of carbon atoms (C) in the intermediate layer (C/(Si+C)) is 0.05 or more and 0.75 or less, respectively, and the ratio (C/(Si+C)) becomes discontinuous in the region where the refractive index of the intermediate layer gradually changes in the thickness direction of the layer and does not contain atoms belonging to the thirteenth group of the periodic table, and the region contains the atoms belonging to the periodic table group (C) It has a region which is smaller than the ratio (C/(Si+C)) of the region contained in the ratio (C/(Si+C)) of the region containing no atoms belonging to the thirteenth group of the periodic table.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
