Title:
ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PRINTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0313973
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To carry out cleaning, destaticizing, and electrifying with one member and at the same time to prevent light fatigue of a photosensitive body and the generation of friction noise by bringing an electrode consisting of electro conductive sponge member in pressurized contact to the photosensitive body and, thereby impressing voltage and processing.

CONSTITUTION: The electrode 5 consisting of electro conductive sponge member is brought into pressure contact to the photosensitive body 1, AC voltage is impressed from an AC voltage source 9, and DC bias is impressed from a DC bias source 10. Then with the impressing effect of the AC voltage, surface potential difference between an exposed part and an unexposed part of the photosensitive body 1 is eliminated, and with the impressing effect of the DC bias, the surface of the photosensitive body 1 is electrified to a necessary surface potential. Further, residue toner of the photosensitive body 1 is erased in a part where the electrode 5 and the photosensitive body 1 are first contacted. Thus the processes of cleaning, destaticizing, and electrifying are carried out with one member, and generation of ozone, light fatigue of the photosensitive body, and the generation of friction noise of a blade can be prevented.
