Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a toner which stably gives clear picture images having little fog and excellent light resistance by using a dyestuff having a specified structure as a coloring agent.
CONSTITUTION: This color toner contains at least a coloring agent in a binder resin, and the coloring agent contains anthraquinone red dye expressed by formula I. In the formula, R is an alkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group, an aryl group, an unsubstd. or substd. benzyl group, an allyl group of a 1-20 carbon number hydroxy alkyl group or groups expressed by formula II. X is -CH2CH2-, -CH2CH(CH3)-, or isomers of these, and Y1 and Y2 are independently oxygen or sulfur, and R1 is an alkyl group of 1-20 carbon number or hydrogen atom. The alkyl group of 1-20 carbon number is a straight, branched or cyclic alkyl group, n is an integer 0-10, and Z is a hydroxy group or an amino group.
