PURPOSE: To enhance sensitivity and to stabilize potential characteristics at the time of repeated uses by forming a photosensitive layer contg. a specified disazo compd. represented by a specified chemical formula to form an electrophotographic sensitive body.
CONSTITUTION: The electrophotographic sensitive body is prepared by forming on the conductive substrate the photosensitive layer contg., a disazo compd. represented by the formula in which each of R1, R2, and R3 is H, alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, or cyano; and at least one of them is not H, and A is a coupler residue having a phenolic OH group. Said photosensitive layer can be divided into an electrostatic charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer as the functionally separated layers and in this case, the disazo pigment of the formula can be used as the charge generating material.
