Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a photosensitive body high in sensitivity and superior in potential stability during repeated successive uses by using a specified azo pigment for a photosensitive layer.

CONSTITUTION: The photosensitive layer contains one of the disazo pigments represented by formula I in which each of R1 and R2 is alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, nitro, or cyano, and each independent of each other; each of A1 and A2 is a coupler residue having a phenolic OH, and each independent of each other; and B is aromatic quinone or aromatic polycyclic quinone. The electrophotographic sensitive body is manufactured by forming a film of said disazo pigment on a conductive substrate by the vapor deposition method or dispersing it into a proper binder and form a film.
