To provide an electrophotographic toner excellent in low temperature fixability and not causing any problem on anti-offsetting property at high temperature in practical use and to provide a method for producing the electrophotographic toner.

The electrophotographic toner comprises a polyester resin (A) comprising fats and fatty oils and/or fatty acids (a1), polybasic acids (a2) and polyols (a3) and having an oil length of 1-30 obtained by polymerization of double bonds in the fats and fatty oils and/or fatty acids (a1) and a colorant (B). In the method for producing the electrophotographic toner, a colored resin melt (I) comprising the polyester resin (A) and the colorant (B) is dispersed in the molten state in a heated aqueous medium (II), cooled and dried.
