Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a good quality image stabilized for a long time, by controlling conditions for setting potential of an electrostatic latent image in accordance with the detected surface potential of a toner layer.
CONSTITUTION: An image-bearing body 1 for retaining an electrostatic latent image on the surface and a holder 2 for holding an insulating toner are arranged with a prescribed interval maintained to develop the image. At that time, surface potential of a toner layer T on the holder 2 is detected 5, and conditions for setting potential of the static latent image are controlled with means 6, 7.
