Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an electrostatic charge image developing toner excellent in electrostatic chargeability and developing performance, causing no fogging and suitable for use in the formation of an image by an electrophotographic process.
SOLUTION: The toner contains toner particles having a core part containing at least a colorant and a shell containing at least a resin and a static build-up assistant and covering the core part. The average volume particle distribution (GSDv) of the toner particles is ≤1.28. The toner is produced as follows; at least colorant particles are dispersed in a polar dispersant to prepare a dispersion of the colorant particles, aggregated particles are formed in the dispersion, a dispersion of fine particles prepared by dispersing at least fine particles of the static build-up assistant and fine resin particles is added to the dispersion of the aggregated particles and mixed to stick the assistant particles and the resin particles to the aggregated particles and the formed stuck particles are fused by heating.
