PURPOSE: To form a long lasting electrostatic image of negative polarity, by forming a toner with a binder containing an isobutylvinylether-vinyl chloride copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: A toner binder is prepared by mixing an isobutylvinylether-vinyl chloride copolymer (preferably at a monomer ratio of 1:9W5:5 by wt.) with a resin, siuh as polystyrenes, polyvinylchloride, or polyester. This binder is dispersed in an organic solvent together with a colorant, then, the solvent is evaporated, and the toner is formed by pulverizing the solid thus obtained. Since the above copolymer is colorless, it does not hinder expression of the specified hues, such as yellow, magenta, or cyan, when it is used in a color toner for use in color electrophotography, electrophotographic textile printing, or the like.
