Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a light weight and miniature motor, by forming a rotor which has a dipole moment through the use of electrets in the rotor and applying voltages to the driving electrodes thereof to rotate it. CONSTITUTION:Electrets 21, 22 are mounted on the rotor such that their respective surface charge distributions are opposite to each other so that they, as a whole, form a rotor 28 having a dipole consisting of the electrets. Driving electrodes 11-14 are twice as many as the poles of the electrets, and are connected to the terminals Q2, Q1, P1, P2 of the driving circuit 30 such that the driving waveforms applied to P2, Q2 and P1, Q1 are in opposite phases respectively. The electrostatic motor constructed in this manner is rotated by the voltages applied to the driving electrodes 11-14, and it can be formed as a light weight and miniature one.
