PURPOSE: To prevent electrified crushed particles from intruding in the processing unit of an electrostatic photographic copying machine.
CONSTITUTION: This electrostatic photographic copying machine is provided with the processing unit 1 attachably/detachably mounted in the main assembly of the electrostatic photographic copying machine, and provided with a developing device 4 developing an electrostatic latent image on an image forming member 3, and a transfer device 7 for transferring a developed toner image from the member 3 in the midst of moving to a copying sheet. The developing device 4 is housed in a housing 2 made of electric insulating material, and is equipped with a conductive seal 28 adjacently to the exit part 26 of the developing device (part where the member 3 passes and goes out when the member 3 is moved toward the device 7). Thus, the crushed particles which are to be accumulated in the area of the exit part 26 are reduced, and even when the accumulated crushed particles exist, the charge accumulation is prevented.
