PURPOSE: To obtain the printer which is economical in running cost, maintenance cost, equipment cost, etc. by controlling the passage of the ions produced between electrodes selectively with an aperture board, letting them deposit on a film and developing the film then transferring images on plain paper.
CONSTITUTION: Ions are selectively flown off from an aperture board 1 and are attracted to a back bar 2. Electrostatic latent images are formed on a film-form medium 3 and are made to visible images by a developing device 4. These are transferred to plain paper 8 by a transfer electrode 7. A fixing device 9 heats this plain paper 8 and fixes the visible images having been transferred. Hence, if the ions being flown from the aperture board 1 are selected according to desired characters and patterns, the characters and patterns may be printed on the plain paper 8. Since cleaning electrodes 10a, 10b completely remove the charges on both surfaces of the film. Soiling of the background is nil despite repeated use.
